Price reduced, again, no one likes it :( And there’s a coupon. I’m literally begging someone to buy this right now! I thought it was so cute…

nerdy-pop:

My item of the week. It’s on sale and everything! If someone doesn’t buy it soon, I’m claiming it for my own!

Recycling this and another item of the week, that I think are so cute, but no one seems to want :/ Anyway, it’s on sale, I’ve reduced the price again. Hopefully someone will take a fancy to it.

School’s Out!

OMG! I know I haven’t updated the blog in AGES, but school and sewing all at once was making me very busy. But school is out now and I am free for three whole months. And I am very excite about it. So I’m going to run another coupon.

10% off until, methinks, yes, July 4th!

Vacation

I am on vacation right now and the shop is temporarily closed while I catch up on the orders that have been piling up. But I reckon most of my questions will be about order status.

These are a lot of the reason that I am behind right now :( I had gotten so many convos from the after Christmas crowd that they put me completely behind schedule because I had to spend a lot of time typing and not sewing.

Right now the current lead in time is about 28 days. Once I am ready to ship a cover I print the postage from Paypal for domestic orders and they will send you an email with the tracking number so that you can keep an eye out for your cover. For international shipments, I must take those directly to the post office. I will try to use the shipment notification button here on Etsy, but I must be honest, I may well forget to do that on a couple of covers. Please forgive me.

I likely will not respond to those convos again because, I would just have to repeat what I just typed above :p

If your question is not related to order status, the answer will probably be delayed until I have some time to sit down and respond to several conversations at once so that I’m not stopping a bunch of times while trying to sew.

I am so sorry for the delay in everything. I am working as quick as I can right now to get everyone’s covers to them asap!!

I thank everyone in advance for their understanding.

P.S. When I am back from vacay, I will extend the coupon. That way we won’t miss any coupon happiness!

A gorgeous picture of a Kindle cover in real-life. Cats love these things. Apparently, Grace’s kitty likes to use it for a pillow. My cat, Hannie, like to hug them and rub her face on them while I’m trying to read.

Thanks so much to Grace for this picture and letting me post it. It is SUPER cute!

iPad 2 Cover!

I made my first ever iPad 2 cover. It’s real pretty :) I don’t have an iPad, I don’t have that short of money, but I measured everything very carefully and I think it will be perfect. Here it is:

Custom Items: General

I had previously said that I would not take custom requests and for good reason. At the time. But for the time being, I have enough time that custom requests are doable.

From here, custom requests will be considered on a case by case basis. If the request is reasonable enough, for an item that I already make, and I have the fabric, etc. I will probably be able to work with ya :D It won’t hurt to convo me, and I can let you know what I can do! And now I shall give further tidbits to help:

♥ I still will not have an online album of my fabrics. That is extremely time consuming, and I don’t actually think it is very helpful. It is very hard to tell what might go together when you are looking at fabrics online. And I will not put fabrics together that do not look good together to my eye. If you have seen my other stuff and like it though, maybe my judgement can be trusted in the fabric choice department.

♥ I won’t consider a request for an item that I don’t make or better put: has never been available in my shop. (Long wallets being the exception, as I can make them, they are on my blog, they just haven’t gotten into the shop yet.)

For now, that ‘s what comes to mind, but I will certainly add to it as things arise :D

Custom Covers: Fabrics

I get a lot of people asking about my covers who love the design, but are looking for a different fabric. And I think it’s a lovely idea. How much fun to choose your own fabric and get the cover of your dreams for your device?!

How can I do this you ask? This is how it works:

1. Look online (Etsy, Superbuzzy, wherever) for a fabric that you like. Fabrics that will work will be cotton (regular weight, canvas, twill, home dec weight is even okay). Then you send me the link to it so that I can check it out.

2. I ask that people only pick out the main fabric that would be the front and prominent pocket on the cover because it is almost impossible to tell online what will go together. I know it is a pain to ask you to trust my judgement, but I will pick out the coordinates once I see the fabric. I almost always just stick to polka dots, stripes, simple basics really.

3. If the fabric is workable and I can get it I will set up a listing / invoice for the cover and once it is purchased and paid, I will order the fabric. Then, when the fabric is in I can work on the cover.

The cost of the cover will depend on the cost of the fabric chosen. There is also an additional charge for this sort of custom item that will depend on the amount of the shipping and handling. Usually when I order fabric, I order several at a time to save myself some shipping. Shipping individual fabrics, however, is kinda expensive, hence the custom item fee. The fee usually ranges from about $3-6 depending on where the fabric is coming from and how much the actual shipping cost is.

If you do have any other questions about it, please feel free to ask using the link above :D

Experimental Model

So, I’m really a big clutz. I am always dropping things. My poor phone, I can’t believe it works at all any more. I’m always wobbling and tripping and spilling things. Hence my experimental model.

I’ll be honest, when I got this fabric, I had every intention of keeping the model I made for photography purposes. It’s just so cute! Wee little hearts hidden in the paisley? And those colors?! Too cute. But my sister and I also thought that this just might be the perfect opportunity for a vinyl test run.

Voila! I laminated the fabric with clear vinyl and I am going to test it out and see how it holds up on the cover. If I am satisfied with it wonderful, wipe-able covers will be for sale in the shop! I will give news as soon as I have been using for the cover a while :D

In the meantime, this cover is available in plain fabric in the shop!
